Banner 8 Upgrade? • What’s an upgrade? • A process to replace all or part of a current system with improved functionality and performance. • What is it NOT? • Not a full implementation like we completed in FY 2009. • Why upgrade? • Support for Banner 7 will discontinue at the end of FY 2010. This is a normal process for a vendor • We also want to take advantage of new functionality in the Banner 8 version.

  3. Downtime • Banner System will come down March 10th 5:00 p.m. (ct) • The system will come back up March 16th 8:00 a.m. (ct) • System is down Thursday (3/11), Friday 3/12), and Monday 3/15).

  4. What can’t you do? • HR/Payroll related • Epaf’s • Web Time Entry • Web Leave Reports • View Leave Balances online • View Earnings Statements online

  5. What can’t you do? • Finance related • TechBuy • Travel System • Traffic & Parking system • Property Inventory system • Interdepartmental Billing through Gateway • Direct Pays • Contract Database • Contract Accounts Receivable • Vendor Queries • PARs

  6. What can’t you do? • Finance related cont. • Cash Receipts • Accounts Payable Checks • Accounts Payable Invoices • MPIP Patient Refunds

  7. So…what CAN I do? • View Cognos reports • Data will be from close of business on 3/10/2010. • Refreshed data will be available on 3/17/2010 for close of business 3/16/2010 • Processes that are still a form (paper, excel, adobe forms) • These will be held by the Finance and Admin offices until Banner comes up

  8. So…what CAN I do? • Call and email us • We are still available and can answer your questions.

  9. Revised Deadlines • EPAF’s • March 4th • Deadline for SM 6 (3/1 – 3/15) • Please do not submit epafs after March 4th for future payrolls • Please wait until after the system comes back up March 16th • Multi-Purpose One Time Payment forms • March 4th • For payment on SM 6 (3/1 – 3/15)

  10. Revised Deadlines • Manual Check Requests • March 4th payable on 3/10/2010 • Next deadline will be 3/18/2010 payable on 3/26/2010 • Web Leave Reports (WLR) • March 10th - this is 5 days early • For Exempt employees to record February leave

  11. Revised Deadlines • Finance related deadlines • Several deadlines on March 9th and 10th

  12. Normal Deadlines • Normal Deadlines will resume when the system comes back up on March 16th. • WTE for SM 6 (3/1 – 3/15) is still March 17th

  13. Communication • Email • To this group • To all employees • Announcement Page • These will take place starting mid-February • You will be notified when the system is back up.
