  9. I think that the theory that best describes Richard Poplawski would be labeling theory. I think that labeling theory best describes him because he was thrown into the system when he was just a young adult. I feel that he was probably treated like a deviant or criminal his entire life. I think the idea was pounded into his head even more when he was discharged from Marines. I think that he is almost a perfect example of secondary labeling theory because he did a deviant act and was labeled for it. I think that this label he may have received when he was younger stayed with him for the rest of his life. Labeling Theory

  10. I feel that because of the label he received as a younger person he felt that he was not a normal person. I think that this may have made it easier for him to snap the way he did. I do not feel that the label is what made him snap I think it just made it easier for him. I do not think that he was mentally all there and so when he snapped the people that were around suffered because of it. Because I think that he accepted the label that he was a deviant he was made more able to do the awful things that he did. Labeling Theory
