History RFC 1142 originally published in 1990 – based on an early ISO draft – ISO DP 10589 Official version of ISO 10589 was first published in 1992 and differed considerably from the DP version. Latest version of ISO 10589 published in 2002 includes multiple “Technical Corrigenda” and ISO Defect Reports – which further differentiates it from RFC 1142 content IETF folks (even some “old hands”) refer to RFC 1142 – this is both wrong and confusing. 87th IETF, Berlin, July 2013
