  3. YEA Tech Topic The Devil is in the Details. • Pick “YEA Tech Topic” speaker very carefully. Outgoing , patient and engaging personality a must ! • Come up with a cool and catchy name . Some ideas – “ Tech by the Fireplace”, “YEA Tech Special” etc. • Use of a high table, laptop , hors d'oeuvres and signage to direct YEA members to the “ YEA Tech Topic” location. • Location ! Location ! Location ! – select a location different from main dinner speaker. Huddle around the high table with the presentation on a laptop screen. The smaller group allows YEA member to ask questions without being too conscious about it. • YEA Chapter Chair to act as facilitator. He /She setups location, makes announcements , introduces “YEA Tech Topic” speaker and facilitates discussion. • Limit “YEA Tech Topic” speaker to 10 minutes. • Limit max. no of slides to 6-7. Request speaker to dedicate last two slides to emerging technology. Tried, tested and hugely successful in ASHRAE Central Florida. Need more details – Email: cknight@ashrae.org
