Introduction • TA is an application designed to: • Integrate with the host SIS (EDSAS) • Provide a mobile solution to tracking and following up of: • Roll Class Absences and • Lesson Absences • Behaviour Management • Anecdotal Comments • RC (Roll Class) Teacher Comments • and at the same time provide • Parent / Guardian Contact Informationto assist in this process. • Data is then updated to the host SIS enabling a full range of reports to be generated to track student movements.

  3. Modes within TA Manager TA is designed to operate in one of two modes: • Single User Mode • My Roll Class • My Subject Class • Multi-User Mode • Multiple Roll Classes enabling sharing of the PDA between teachers.

Security • Security is an integral part of the TA application. • There are four levels of security in the PDA application. • Password Access • A password is required to access the application • Data Encryption • Critical Database files cannot be viewed except with the host application • Data Erase • If after a set number of days the PDA is not synchronised, key databases are removed automatically from the PDA. • Auto Close • After an Auto Shut down the PDA is returned to the main menu when powering back on

  6. Logging On When the user access the TA Icon for the first time, they will be required to enter a password. This password is DEFAULT. All users are strongly advised to change this password immediately to something unique.

  9. Student Information General Information Displays general details about the student which may be useful in day to day Student Management. Contact Details Provides the address and contact numbers of those identified as Parent Guardians in the Host SIS. Clicking on Other P/G will rotate between the 2 PG Details Emergency Contacts Taken directly from the Host, the screen will display all Emergency Contacts listed in the host SIS, their relationship to the student as well as emergency contact numbers. Doctors Information Assuming this is recorded in the host SIS, this data will be displayed Medical Conditions All medical conditions identified by the host will be displayed on the PDA. Two medical conditions will be displayed per page. The scroll bar enables the management plan to be viewed as required. • Student Timetable • The timetable will show the current day only. • Details include: • Period • Subject • Teacher • Room Location Behaviour Management The user chooses the appropriate responses from each of the lookups against the heading and adds a comment as required. Upon Synchronisation, the data will be transferred off the PDA into the appropriate application on the network (Dux Assistants) where additional editing can be done. This is designed as a quick entry tool only. Anecdotal Comments The user fills in the screen as required. Upon synchronisation, the data will be updated to the Host SIS and removed off the PDA. Additional editing will need to be carried out via the host application. This is designed as a quick entry tool only. RC (Roll Class) Teacher Comments This component is designed to enable the user to make a comment about a student and have it recorded in the host SIS where it can be edited. This is designed as a quick entry tool only. Selecting Student Information will display all Active Students in the school grouped by Roll Class You can now choose any of the options listed and view or add data as appropriate Now find the Roll Class of the Student Now find the student and tap on the i to the left of the student’s name.
