Where we come from + Bartlett School of Planning • Group of undergraduate and master students with different specialisations in planning and design • Interested in neighbourhood planning for research purposes and work experience • Providing support to community groups through Just Space contacts

Some examples • HackbridgeNeighbourhood Development Group - Local Economy • Issues: • Retain existing employment land • Create a larger variety of jobs • Business sustainability charter • Community-led services • Initiatives: • Mapping existing local businesses • Proposed business survey • Using the Outer London Fund to support the Green Business Network • Visiting the People’s Supermarket for a best practice example

Some examples East Walworth Neighbourhood Plan and the Latin American Community • Issues: • Threat to be displaced by redevelopment scheme • Attracting more customers • Preserving the Latin American character of the area • Consolidating the community through spatial linkages, design and public art • Initiatives: • Mapping existing businesses and services • Guided walk with local councillors • Design strategy workshop • Urban design proposal to be included in the East Walworth Neighbourhood Plan
