I’m Kathy, and today I’m going to talk about owning a pet. ● Giving an overview In today’s presentation I will cover 3 things: First, I will discuss the benefits of owning a pet. Second, I will go over how to train and take care of your pet. And finally, I will talk about some costs involved in owning a pet. ● Defining a key term Let’s begin by defining ‘pet’. A pet is an animal that someone takes care of inside the home. It is an animal kept for pleasure, not for work. ● Explaining the 1st main point. Now, let’s look at some benefits of owning a pet. So there are 2 advantages to having a pet. First of all, studies show that a pet will keep you from feeling lonely. For example, you can play with your pet and make friends with people who also have pets. Moreover, having a pet - like a dog - can help you get exercise. *An important thing here is thatyou will begin to have a healthier lifestyle. ● Concluding the presentation & Inviting questions So I think I will stop here.
