  3. 10 Days Before the Cruise…Parent and Student Notes Went Home to Households….

  4. One Week Before the Voyage…Itineraries showed up in teacher mailboxes….

  5. Three Days before we left the harbor….Ticket bundles showed up in teacher mailboxes….

  6. THE DAY OF THE CRUISE….

  7. Teachers came on board….tickets in hand…and went right to…CRUISE REGISTRATION

  8. No Cruise is complete without…THE CAPTAIN and THE CRUISE DIRECTOR!!

  9. Once on Board…Seafaring Teachers were adorned with TROPICAL LEIS and had their pictures taken with THE CAPTAIN!!

  10. ALL TEACHER CLASSROOMDOOR PLAQUESBECAME….PERSONALIZED STATEROOM SIGNS!!

  11. EACH DAY OF THE CRUISE…The Shipboard Marque highlights the daily events!!

  12. AROUND THE SHIP…PTA Created FUN and LOW COST decorations to carry the THEME!!

  13. “TROPICAL LUAU” THE GRAND BUFFETIN THE CLUB LOUNGE

  14. SHOPPING ON BOARD…..At the EAGLE’S NEST GIFT SHOP!!Teachers received the GIFT VOUCHER in their TICKET BUNDLES….Good for “2” Items at the shop!!

  15. Items to redeem were… • - small tools-sewing kits- handy wipes - gardening items - desk organizers • - highlighters- candy treats- desktop mirrors - hair brushes - hand sanitizer

  16. “TEN MINUTE MIRACLE SPA” THE SPA @ CLUB OAKCREST

Teachers received the ROYAL TREATMENT in the SPA!!Local Beauty Consultants and a Salt Lake Massage School donated products and services to make the “on-board” experience one to remember!!PTA transformed the faculty room with simple and attractive décor to set the ambiance of serenity and tranquility!!

SUCCESS FACTORS: • GO WITH A CREATIVE THEME….PLAN IT….THEN LIVE IT UP!! • GET CREATIVE…DELIGHT THE TEACHERS WITH FUN IDEAS AND UNEXPECTED SURPRISES!! • HAVE SOMETHING GOING ON EVERY DAY…ALL WEEK LONG!! • PLAN AHEAD…TAP INTO THE IDEAS AND RESOURCES OF ALL YOUR PARENTS!! • HAVE AN EMCEE FOR THE EVENT…A FAMILIAR PARENT THAT CAN ANCHOR THE SCHOOL FOR THE WEEK…BE ON INTERCOM ANNOUNCEMENTS, MORNING BROADCASTS…ANYWHERE YOU CAN PROMOTE THE THEME!! • MAKE SURE STUDENTS ARE INVOLVED!! • HAVE MUSIC AND SOUND….MAKE IT REALISTIC AND MEMORABLE!! • INCLUDE OTHER STAFF WHERE POSSIBLE…MEALS, TREATS, CERTIFICATES, CARDS, and LETTERS!! • MAKE IT A TEACHING EXPERIENCE…SHARE FACTS ABOUT YOUR THEME AND THE OBJECTS THAT ACCOMPANY IT…HAVE TRIVIA CONTESTS. • DO IT FOR THE TEACHERS…INCLUDE EVERYONE AROUND THE SCHOOL…MAKE IT A WEEK LONG PARTY!!
