Search Tips • To increase your chances of finding funding sources: • Review the sites in this presentation • Look to the professional organizations in your field that might offer funding opportunities • Confer with colleagues to learn about funding opportunities they have found (governmental agencies, foundations, corporations) • Seek opportunities to collaborate with faculty in your Department, within the COE, and across campus • Avail yourself of the opportunities to work with our research office to assist your searches

  8. Search Tips Once you have found something of interest: • Read the abstract/synopsis of grant opportunity • Determine your eligibility to apply • What is the award ceiling/floor? How many awards will be made? • What are the due dates for letter of intent/proposal submission? • Is your work relevant to the RFP/RFA?

Don’t Forget • Always check with the COE Office of Research before: • Making official contact with a private foundation or corporation • Submitting a proposal • All proposals must be submitted to the Office for Sponsored Programs 5 business days prior to the submission deadline therefore, proposals must be submitted to Kim Wright 10 business days before the due date.
