  4. DSST Program – Our Marketplace Prior Learning Assessment is the evaluation of learning gained from life experience. Most colleges and universities have a process to measure learning acquired outside the classroom. Credit by Exam is one of the processes commonly deployed to measure prior learning. Students take an exam and when passing receive the same amount of credit they would earn with a similar course. The DSST exams, along with CLEP and Advanced Placement exams, are delivered for credit at thousands of higher education institutions in the United States. A college or university may either award credit for a passing exam, deliver the exams on their campus or both.

  5. DSST Program – Our Product The DSST Program allows Colleges and Universities to award credit to students instead of completing a course. DSST exams are: • Offered in six disciplines and 37 subjects • Recognized nationally • Nearly 2000 institutions award DSST credits • Over 1000 institutions deliver DSST exams • Recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE) • Take an average of 90 min. to complete • Cost-effective @ $80/exam or funded by DANTES if a member of the service. • Aligned with college course content for core curriculum • Well-suited to fulfill elective credits with titles such as Introduction to World Religions and Ethics in America

DSST Program – New and Improved • New brand identity launched 15 months ago: Increased affiliation with Prior Learning Assessment and Credit by Exam Decreased affiliation with Military and DANTES DSST is for ANY student who would like to leverage their knowledge and prior experience into college credits!

DSST Program – New and Improved for Test Centers • New website launched in May ’08 • Receives over 1M hits per month • Test Preparation page describes resources available by exam title • New IBT on-boarding process launching Fall ‘09 • Streamline activities decreasing time to go live • Leverage help desk tools to increase efficacy of support once testing begins • New website for TCA’s coming soon Winter ‘09-’10 • Leveraging Prometric’s experience with over 30,000 TCA’s delivering over 8M exams/year • Improved access to information through better organization of resources and search functionality

DSST Program – New and Improved for Students • Facebook Fan Page • Over 100 fans and growing • Objective is to create a community of test takers and others who help test takers by providing them with useful content on a regular basis • Become a fan and help other students benefit from DSST! • Student campaigns to increase awareness • Viral, available on Facebook and getcollegecredit.com • Results of free quizzes shareable on social networking sites • “Widget” with mini-quizzes shareable anywhere, including your school’s website!

How to Become an IBT Test Center • Go to getcollegecredit.com/contact us • Click on “become a DSST test center” • Populate form • Once request is received Janet will follow up and provide the following information: • Letter of Agreement • Site code assigment • Instructions to install IBT • Test Administrator’s Guide • Instructions to take TCA exam which will initiate system • Once system is initiated, delivery can begin!
