The Early Life of Renowned Author, Britten Wilder!

Britten Wilder was born June 2, 1959 in Aliceville, Alabama to Thomas and Amy Wilder. He went to Aliceville High School and was a trumpet player in the local school band. Britten Wilder was voted as u201cMost Popular, Biggest Flirt and Most Likely to Succeedu201d while he was attending Aliceville High School. Later, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in public relations and political science. After graduating, Britten moved to Atlanta, GA and started working for the nationally syndicated African American Countdown as a writer.

Britten Wilder’s Academic Background • Britten Wilderwas born June 2, 1959 in Aliceville, Alabama to Thomas and Amy Wilder. • He went to Aliceville High School and was a trumpet player in the local school band. • He excelled in both sports and academics, and graduated in the top 10% of his class. • Later, he graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in public relations and political science.

  3. Wilder Developed Interest in Writing from an Early Age • Britten Wilder became interested in writing from an early age. • His favorite authors were Stephen King, Edgar Allen Poe, W. E. B. Du Bois, Danielle Steele, etc. • He loved his drama classes in high school and wrote many of the celebrated skits as well as plays that his high school uses today.

His favorite subject was English, creative writing, and writing short stories. • Wilder first became interested in Screen playwriting when he read a movie script for the movie “The God Father”. • He then worked on his skill and wrote a variety of screenplay ranging from romantic comedies, drama, action, to made-for-television sitcom.

Wilder Was Always a Kid Who Wanted To Do Everything • Britten Wilderwas voted as “Most Popular, Biggest Flirt and Most Likely to Succeed” while he was attending Aliceville High School. • During his high school, he also played in the R&B group called the “Soul Rockers.” • Soon after the group disbanded, he became a radio disc jockey called “Mr. T” (Mr. Together). • Later, he started a chain of night clubs in Alabama, Columbus, Mississippi and Shannon Mississippi, by the name Mr. T’s.

Britten Got the Chance to Work for the Nationally Syndicated African American Countdown • After graduating from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Britten moved to Atlanta, Georgia and started working for the nationally syndicated African American Countdown as a writer. • Here, he got the chance to write this award-winning syndicated show, and also interview many music icons. • He interviewed legends like Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner, James Brown, Mick Jagger, Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and many more.
