  1. The Genesis Allegory - “What things were written aforetime were written for our learning” Rom15:4 • The “seed of Abraham” went down into Egypt, a type of the world, and grow into sinful ways, as we all do! • The Exodus from Egypt is what happens to those who ‘eat the lamb’, get ‘born again’, and change their way of life. All of the first-born still die! • The promised land of Canaan, or ‘milk & honey’ is a precept of our promised land of heaven.

  2. “Seed of Abraham” = Children of Israel = Hebrews = Circumcision – “Beloved, now are we the sons of God”Now we are sons, and born-again Christians! • Hosea 11:1 - “When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.” • The Lord wants us to ‘come out of Egypt’ too -- and begin to follow Him! • Moses led them out of Egypt and into the promised land of milk and honey, and Jesus will be leading us to heaven!

  3. THEMES OF EGYPT • We’ve been given the best of the land of Goshen, and ‘little by little’ are led into bondage by Satan, the god of mammon, ‘god of this world’, 2Cor4:4. • All the firstborn die! They still do, so we must be born-again. Whatever you have is “terminal”. • They were desperate for that bread, Gen47:19, because it was a precept of the True Bread of Life: Jesus Christ.

  4. When money fails…! Gen 47:15 • Joseph was the ‘saviour’ of his people, like Jesus. His Godly actions were responsible for his being able to provide that bread. • Joseph didn’t lead those people to Canaan. No, he left that for the arrival of Moses, and we can depend on Jesus returning to lead us to heaven. • Is the money going to fail first? Does it matter to people of faith? We’ll soon see!
