  2. What is convergence? • Media technologies coming together and performing similar tasks • Hardware’s capability to do more than before • eg: phones to make phone calls, sends texts, emails, take pictures, access to the internet, listen to music the list goes on…

  3. Convergence in the Film Industry In groups, discuss how the following are being affected due to technological convergence: • Production • Distribution • Marketing • Consumption

  4. Working Title • On their official site they have a number of trailers playing in background while you browse. • ‘Play splat attack’ games to entertain the younger audiences. The game involves a scene from the film and the characters popping up. • Clips from the film, different versions of trailer available for people with HD TV’s. • Other feature films to catch your attention • Comic strips of previous films • Wallpapers for download

Case Studies • Select one production company from the following to do your case study on: Disney, DNA, Film Four, Warner Bros and Warp Films. • You need to explore the ways that the company has had to adapt the ways it produces, markets and distributes films due to technological convergence • Find examples of specific films and what methods the company used when marketing these
