  3. Background • RFP: RAF/2012/00034 :APPOINTMENT OF A SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION, MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT OF A LOG MANAGEMENT TOOL FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS • Advertised on: 07 December 2012 • Closing on : 23 January 2013

  9. Original signed bid document • 2 hard copies • Submitted in sealed envelopes • Each schedule must be clearly distinguish, indexed and all pages numbered • Submission of bid responses

  10. Disqualification of bids • Bidders shall be disqualified if they fail to: • Submit a valid and original tax clearance certificate • Complete questionnaires in full • Submit true and correct information • Comply with mandatory requirements • Comply with prescribed response format

Administration • RFP Closing Date: 23 January 2013 @11h00 (as per the clock at RAF reception ) • Venue: RAF Menlyn Reception 38 Ida street Menlo Park Pretoria • Bid responses sent by courier must reach the reception at least 36 (thirty six) hours before the closing date to be deposited into the bid box • Submission Register must be signed at the reception by bidder when submitting bid documents • Late bids will not be considered • All queries must be forwarded to annah@raf.co.za • Enquiries and clarification of technical issues will close not later than 16 January 2013 @ 11H00. Business Challenge • A number of different Point solutions to monitor, report and alert which do not provide for event correlation • No Single source of ICT log and other data • Integrity of ICT Log files (Capacity, Admins, Forensics etc…) • Limited resources within the ICT Security department to monitor large quantities of log files manually for possible security threats and/or events • Audit requirement • Unauthorised changes within ICT systems • Difficult to identify root cause of ICT failures/instability

Purpose of the Tender • The RAF wishes to appoint a service provider that is experienced, suitable and qualified for the implementation of a Security Log Monitoring Tool • The Service Provider must: • Supply all required hardware, software and licensing for the solution (must run on a UNIX or Windows OS) – 3Years • Implement the architected solution • Capture and store any ICT system data (eg: Logs, registry, configuration, files systems, database tables, schema’s, etc...) • Import historical data that may be available • Build meaningful dashboard, charts and graphs as per RAF requirements. • Create alerts as required by RAF • Role-based access controls to the solution • Training as well as knowledge transfer to RAF ICT Staff in terms of • Formal Training of ICT Staff for maintenance, configuration and ongoing support of the solution. • Knowledge and skills to ICT Staff for maintaining, configuration and ongoing support of the solution
