  2. Project Summary LFS-DIGITAL is a professional development project designed to build teacher capacity utilizing the Delaware Prioritized Curriculum and enhancing instruction with emerging multimedia and digital resources.

Background • ARRA 2009- Stimulus Funds • DDOE – Competitive Grant Process “Innovation Grant” • Interest Survey- March • Consortium- Delmar, Laurel and Seaford • Grant Awarded ( ~ 250K) -May 2009 • Entered into Contracts with Discovery Education and K12 Handhelds Inc. ( locate and align resources) and Partner with DE VerizonThinkfinity

The Plan • 3 PD opportunities Year 1 & 2 • Multi-media Alignment • Technology Symposium • Acquisition Lesson Coaching/Development • Instructional Unit topic conversions to KUDs new! • Teacher and Student pre- post surveys • Website http://agi.seaford.k12.de.us/sites/LFSdigital/Wiki%20Pages/Home.aspx • Ongoing PD support through school based dept and faculty meetings • Use of aligned Multi-media and Digital Resources in classroom instruction and planning

  6. Goals • improve student achievement through technology use • assist students in crossing the digital divide • integrate technology resources with teacher training and curriculum  development and establish research-based, best instructional practices

  8. Updates. • Approximately 170 units have had multi-media and digital resources aligned • Move to common core standards • KUDs due July 15, 2011( will start to go online shortly after that)

  9. Technology standards built into the KUDs

  10. Units • All subject areas grade 5-12 are represented. • Grades 6-10 average of 5 instructional units/per (soon to be KUDs) • Science averages a few more

  11. General Housekeeping & Info. • 9-3:00 pm with an hour for lunch (on your own) • Daily sign in process and Certificates.
