  6. Lynn “Buck” Compton • California • Athlete played college baseball with Jackie Robinson • Played in the Rose Bowl for UCLA • Lead prosecutor for Sirhan Sirhan who killed RFK • Retired Judge

  7. Denver “Bull” Randleman • Arkansas • Died 2003 • Winters said he was one of the bets soldiers that he ever knew

Wild Bill Guarnere • South Philly • Enlisted at 15 • His mom made him finish high school while he worked a night job • Most known for losing his leg in the Battle of the Bulge saving his friend Joe Toye • Met his wife when she was 13 & he was 16 and promised her he would marry her when he returned from WWII • Still alive

  11. “Babe” Edward Heffron • Born South Philly • Worked in Camden, NJ • Best Friend was John Julian who died in Bastogne on Jan 1, 1945 • Heffron stopped celebrating New Year’s Day after the death of Julian • Still alive

  13. Eugene Roe • Louisiana • Medic • After WWII was a fisherman • Died of cancer 1998

  18. David Kenyon Webster • Wealthy family from Connecticut • Harvard • Refused to become an officer because he wanted to see war from the grunt prospective • His war diaries became memoirs of the war • Last to leave war from 101st • Became journalist • Died 1961 lost at sea

  19. Darrell “Shifty” Powers • Top Pic: Shifty & Lipton • Virginia • Enlisted with his friend “Popeye” • Saved the 101st twice-once in Foy and in Bastogne • Best shot in Easy Company • Died June 2009 of • cancer
