Ccr requirements

CCR Requirements

  • The CCR requires Community Water Systems (CWSs) to provide CCRs to their customers, giving an annual report on water quality.

    • The GWR amends the CCR requirements and includes language to be used when informing the consumers of significant deficiencies and fecal indicator – positive results in ground water source samples.

CCR Requirements (cont’d.)

  • The CCR requires Community Water Systems (CWSs) under the GWR to include the following information:

    • Fecal indicator positive source water samples

    • Significant deficiencies that are left uncorrected at the end of the calendar year being reported

    • CWSs must provide special notice annually until the state determines significant deficiency is corrected and fecal contamination is addressed

    • The special notice would include whether source contamination has been addressed and dates of actions

    • Potential health effects language

Public notification requirements

Public Notification Requirements

  • The PNR requires all PWSs to give notice to persons served by the water system of a significant event, including violations of national primary drinking water regulations (NPDWRs) and waterborne emergencies.

    • The GWR amends the PNR by requiring notice for detection of a fecal indicator (E. coli) in a ground water source sample, treatment technique violations, and monitoring violations.
