Educational Requirements • Associates Degree – 2 years • Bachelors Degree – 4 years • Masters Degree – 1-2 years • Doctorate Degree – 2-4 years • Certification -- must fulfill requirements of education and performance • Deals with formal education • Registration – required by some health care occupations • Deals with professional organizations • Licensure – government authorizes you to do “your thing” • Deals with regulation by individual states • Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) • May be required by states and/or professional organizations • Credentialing – checking one’s bona vides; used in registration & licensure
