  1. Welcome to Chemistry/Marine Biology / Environmental Science NEED HELP? Teacher is only available from 7:00 am to 7:30 a.m. Unless announced differently Appointment Needed

  2. Grading • Grading according to the Walnut Valley School District • Semester Grades: a. Labs, homework, projects, openers 40% of the total grade. Stamp sheet will record the points. Some assignments will be collected for grading with different point values. Late Stamp sheets 50% of total points.

  3. Grading Cont…….. { absent? Take exam on the day of return.} • All Test and Quizzes are 60% of the grade LATE WORK is not accepted Tardies to Class: Homework will be incomplete for the period. Zeros on quizzes. 100 pts. deducted from Test day. NO STAMP SHEET ON HOMEWORK DAY ? Stamp sheet assignment not filled in. NO CREDIT FOR WORK COMPLETED! Absent work is due the day of return! Get the homework from a friend or the teacher (email, check daily assignment sheet, website, call 594-1405 ext. 33415)

TESTING • ALL Tests are either or a combination of short answer (Marine/Chem/Environmental), muItiple choice (Chem/Environmental)/ True and false and modified true and false, matching, short answer and essay. (Chem/Environmental/Marine science) • FORGET YOU CALCULATOR? COMPLETE THE TEST WITH OUT ONE THERE IS NO SHARING OF CALCULATORS DURING THE TESTS. The information comes from the text and/or notes. No word banks are given

  5. Materials Recommended for Class • Scientific Calculator ( no graphing calculators) • Highlighter • Pencils • Pens • Loose leaf paper, not spiral • Ruler • Graph paper • stapler

  6. Books • BOOKS ARE TO BE BOUGHT TO CLASS EVERY DAY. (If there is not a class set available) • NO BOOK ! = REFERRAL

  7. Extra credit • EXTRA CREDIT IS ONLY GIVEN TO THE ENTIRE GROUP, NOT INDIVIDUALLY IT WILL BE DECISION OF THE INSTRUCTOR

  8. CLASSROOM RULES • 1. BE ON TIME FOR CLASS. • 2. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR SEAT WITHOUT PERMISSION. • 3. NO FOOD OR DRINK IN CLASS (water included). • 4. FOLLOW DIRECTIONS WHEN FIRST GIVEN. • 5, ALL BOOKS AND BAGS ARE STORED UNDER DESKS. • 6. ALL ELECTRONIC DEVICES (head phones included)OFF AND OUT OF SIGHT. • 7. BE RESPECTFUL TO OTHERS. • 8. BE ON TASK AT ALL TIMES.

  9. BATHROOM PASSES • PASSES ARE ONLY TO THE GLCS. • EXCESSIVE USES OF THE RESTROOMS RESULTS IN PARENTS BEING NOTIFIED.

  10. SUCCESS ! • You will do well in school, if all your homework is completed and receive at least 70% or better on every assignment. • Your Success Is Your Responsibility! • Study!
