  5. Moves to Paris & meets Picasso & Breton Involved with Surrealist movement Creates works that epitomize Surrealism “The Persistence of Memory” (melting clocks)

  6. 1929 meets future wife, lover, muse, supporter, and business manager for all the rest of his life: Helena Diakonova “Gala” Expelled from Surrealist movement Dali says “surrealism is me.” Goes to U.S. for 8 years - very popular

  7. 1982 wife dies He fights palsy 1983 paints last painting “The Swallows Tail” Burned in a fire at his home in Puhol Dies of heart problems 1989
