  2. Qin’s full name was Qin Shi Huangdi He was the 1st emperor of a unified China. (221 B.C.) - He came to power after the warring states period - China is named after him! Qin= Chin 秦 Who was Qin?

  3. Qin believed that harsh government was a way to keep China unified. His government was called Legalism. Legalism had 3 parts Fa,(Law) Shi (Power)andShu.(Method) Qin felt that it was god’s will that he was the Emperor. This was called the “Mandate of Heaven.” How did he govern?

  4. Qin believed harsh punishments would help prevent further crime.
