  5. Study Group 5 • Protection Against Eletromagnetic Environment Effects

  6. Objective • To study the impact of the liberalization of telecommunication services on the EMC, safety and resistibility of networks.

  7. Study Group 5 • Interference produced by power lines and electrified lines into telecommunications networks

  8. Study Group 5 • Maintenance and enhancement of Recommendations related to human safety in the telecommunications environment • Resistibility EMC and Safety of unbumdling • Resistibility of new types of communication equip .and access net.

  10. Safety Concept • Safety procedures have been studied for a long time, but accidents can occur and the physical integrity of people, equipment and buildings must be assured. will increase the safety in the outside plant, especially in developing countries.

  11. Guidelines • Strategies to prevent accidents. • Recycling Materials. • Chemical Treatments.

  12. Guidelines • Chemical treatments introduced in the field for the protection or maintenance of products. • Safety procedures for outdoor installations.

  16. Guidelines • Develop a Recommendation on Recycling of Copper and Optical Cables Materials. • Develop the Handbook on the Environmental and Safety Procedures for Outside Plant . • Revisions to ITU-T Recommendations L.2, L.24 and L.63 .

  17. Guidelines • Must be necessary improvement proceedings on Safety construction for Outside Plant, and QoS service.

  18. Results • In Study Group V and Study Group VI, we have produced around 20 Recommendations

  19. Role of Regulatory Agencies • To provide the Regulation for all services. • To provide inspection in the networks • To provide standards procedures with others agencies e.g Gas/Power/Environmetal . • To diffuse ITU-T,ISO,IEC standards in your Country.

  20. Guidelines • ISO 14000 for Supliers and Contractors. • More control of products in Outside Plant. • More control of workers and projects. • Safety procedures to be obligatory

  21. Conclusion • Safety procedures are available. • Administrations are conscience • Workers need safety,and • Subscriber a good service with quality
