  2. Funds To The State • Pa counting on one time table game fees paid by casinos to produce nearly $200 million for the current state budget. • Ongoing tax rate of 16% on the gaming revenue amounting to $100 million a year will help the state budget.

Senate Bill: 711 • Senate bill no. 711 states that as of 2009 an act amending title 4 (amusements). • Section 1102 of title 4 of the PA Consolidated Statutes Part (2.1) stating that “table games are intended to supplement slot machine gaming by increasing revenues to the Commonwealth and providing new opportunities by creating skilled jobs for individuals related to the conduct of table games at licensed facilities in this Commonwealth.”

Opening The Doors • Philadelphia Park Casino and Racetrack opened the doors on Friday December 18th to its new, permanent gambling venue in Bensalem, Pa and became known as Parx Casino. • The 260,000-square-foot complex replaces the temporary slots parlor that opened two ago at Philadelphia Park, next door. Spokeswoman Carrie NorkMinelli says no stone was unturned in the design of this glitzy casino. • There are more than 3,000 slot and video poker machines, along with an an eye on the future. Since the state legislature gave its approval there is now table gambling. • "We do have plans for a hotel, retail, nightclub, and those plans are next phases."

Pennsylvania Gaming Control • Parx Casino applied to The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board for 80 live and electronic table games. • Buy July 2010, 23 will be fully automated electronic versions of baccarat, black jack, and poker. • Players will now have the opportunity to compete against each other not just and electronic dealer.

Local Negative Reactions Many residents of Bensalem do not want a casino in their neighborhood because: • The possible criminal element because of higher stakes gaming tables • The increased traffic which is already a problem on Street Road • The noise of the traffic and lights that now are too bright for the local homeowners to stand • The casino is legalized robbery because you will never beat the house
