English 2 week 3 DAY 2 Copy the following Figurative examples for a “TEST:” Metaphor- “ The ___ test was a mountain.” Simile “ The testwas as hard a brick wall.” Personification “The testwas laughing at me.” Imagery- Sweat dripped off my forehead and plopped onto the test. Onomatopoeia- The testwas so hard it snapped my pencil. Hyperbole- The testwas 100 pages long! Analogy- Taking that test was like taking a scuba test without scuba gear! Allusion- Even Einstein was asking for help on that test.

  2. English 2 week 3 DAY 2 Copy the following Figurative examples for a TEST: Irony (verbal/sarcasam) The test was so much fun! Understatement- In conclusion, the testwasn’t too bad. Idiom- The test was a piece of cake! (popular phrase) NOW, SUBSTITUTE “test” for “a storm”- adjust the test figurative language to describe a storm. TODAY- we are finishing are WORD WHEELS with examples and pictures. HW – Finish Word Wheels with TEST or STORM examples (don’t worry about repetition, rhyme, pun, satire, etc)

Onomatopoeia- The STORM banged cars off the road. Hyperbole- The STORM was 100 miles wide! Analogy- Walking through that stormwas like walking through a car wash. Allusion- The stormwas so powerful, even Zeus was running.
