Proficiency Certificates: Smart Use of Elective Credits The courses required for the proficiency certificates develop competence in a particular specialty which can certainly enhance your resume and add depth to your education. See college catalog for courses required for each certificate. • Biomedical Technician Proficiency Certificate • Biotechnology Proficiency Certificate • Clinical Assistant • Digital Imaging Proficiency Certificate • Geographic Information Systems Proficiency Certificate • Medical Insurance Billing Proficiency Certificate • Nanofabrication Manufacturing Proficiency Certificate • Network and Systems Administration Proficiency Certificate • Patient Service Representative Proficiency Certificate • Process Technology I Proficiency Certificate

  5. Structure of Curriculum-Two Concentrations with a Common Core • Health Careers Concentration • Science and Technology Concentration

  6. Common Core • 4 Humanities Courses-English 101 and 102 and 2 Humanities Electives are required • 2 Mathematics Courses-Math 118 (or higher) and a second math course (Math 135 or higher) • 3 Social Science Electives • 3 General Electives • 60 credits to graduate

  7. Concentration Requirements • Students choosing the Health CareersConcentration must complete 6 courses in Science and Health courses • Students choosing the Science andTechnologyConcentration must complete 6 courses in Science and Technology courses

Science and Health Courses • CIS 103 PC Applications is required • AH 101, AH 103 or Diet 111-for the Health Course • Two different natural sciences with labs-this satisfies the breadth requirement • Two additional natural sciences with labs, both in one of the disciplines chosenabove forbreadth-the three courses in one discipline satisfy the depth requirement

Science and Technology Courses • CIS 103 PC Applications is required • One Technology Course (at least 3 credits) for Science and Technology Concentration-Choose ADC (103, 163, 263), PLS 115, or any CF, CIS (except CIS 103), CSCI or GIS courses • Two different natural sciences with labs-this satisfies the breadth requirement • Two additional courses in one of the sciences or the technical discipline chosen above-the three courses in any one scientific or technical discipline satisfy the requirement for depth
