  5. Q2) This scene is based ona head on encounter where theother vessel is opening to port.

  6. Q3) Using the information presented fromthe ARPA and from out of the window, you are presented with a situation where you are obliged to give way to one vessel but stand on for the other.

  7. Q4) Many scenarios are built around multi ship encounters.In this case the vessel 1 point on your port bow is restrictedby the vessel on her starboard side.

  8. Q5) An example where multiple choice answers are used.

  9. Q6) An example of a question where a free text answer is typed in.

  10. Q7) A further example where multiple choice is most appropriate.

  11. Q8) A question built up by using simulationfrom the wheelhouse window and propercomprehension of the information in thepassage plan and the chart.

  13. Q10) Situational awareness.Is the vessel really where thepositions on the chart showand can the officer correctlyrecognise this? (he must also not forget to deal with thetraffic).
