  5. As a Leadership Team… …construct your school’s mission, vision and goals to more easily monitor progress as it aligns with data driven decisions. Do the statements incorporate a concern for the academic success of all students and reflect the belief that all students can learn? Do the statements reflect the belief that all teachers are responsible implementing instructional strategies that meet the needs of all students? Are the statements realistic? Do the statements address subgroup performance? Are the statements aligned within other plans?

  6. As a Leadership Team… …review data in reference to your school’s mission, vision and goals. What are the inconsistencies between the data and the mission, vision and goals? What does the data need to supply in order to monitor the mission, vision and goals? What data sources are driving the overall mission, vision and goals?

  7. As a Leadership Team… …develop clear and understandable goals which concentrate on the inconsistencies. Are the goals: • Developed to address specific problems related to the data? Are the goals: • Specific • Measurable • Attainable • Realistic • Time-bound Are the goals: - Incorporating research-based practices as they relate to the data?

  8. As a Leadership Team… …create and/or evaluate various strategies to accomplish your goals. Has the strategies been validated by scientific research? Does the strategies support the mission, vision and goals? What are the resources necessary to implement the strategies?

  9. As a Leadership Team… …incorporate your strategies into the education process. Who is responsible for implementing the chosen strategies? What is the timeline for implementing the chosen strategies? What is the monitoring process for the chosen strategies?

  10. As a Leadership Team… …analyze the impact of our strategies as compared to your goals. What is the monitoring timeline for the chosen strategies? Do the chosen strategies have a positive, negative, or no effect on the goals? Are the strategies being implemented correctly?

  11. As a Leadership Team… …using your findings, initiate the improvement model over again. What strategies need enhancedor eliminated? Have the goals been achieved? What goals need reevaluated or rewritten?
