  2. Learning Objectives Discuss the successful strategies used by the hospital to reduce CLABSI in NICU. Identify how the hospital engaged staff and physicians in the CLABSI work. Describe how the team addressed the barriers that were identified. Outline one step your team must take next week in order to reduce CLABSI in your NICU. Implement the action steps your team should complete before the July meeting.

  7. Where Is Your Team? Assess your internal baseline data Prioritize improvement Define goal/aim for reduction Meet with your Senior Executive champion Develop your team Conduct first team meeting Use the Pre-Implementation Checklist to assist you in beginning your work

  8. Next Steps: To be completed by July 11 Meeting Complete development/review of your Central Line checklist and Maintenance bundle. Implement the proposed checklist in a small sample (Test of Change). Assess and modify as needed. Develop a plan to include assessment of line necessity every day during rounds. Begin to collect process measure data (ie, compliance to checklist) for June to report in July. Complete the meeting evaluation by June 19.
