Don’ts • Do not Pan too fast = it is dizzying • Avoid zooming = poor quality & stability • Do not face into the sun or bright light= bad image quality • Do’s • Storyboard your ideas first • Give 5 seconds of dead time before and after a clip for editing • Stabilize the camera with both hands • Make each clip at least 3 seconds long • Be aware of you image composition ViDEO-MAKiNG:

  5. Think of the story you want to tell • Draw out boxes for each part of your storyline • Think about how each part will look when telling the story • Sketch out your ideas • Does the sketch of your storyline make sense? How to storyboard your ideas!

  6. The sketch can be fancy • or very basic, just get it • on paper first, it will help. Storyboarding will help you know what is important to capture in the shot so you can tell your story by video the best way.

  7. Get your group together • Check out a flip camera • Set up your shots • Start recording each segment of your video • Allow 5 seconds of dead time at the start & end for editing Total video time while shooting: 3 minutes Total video time after editing: 2 minutes Now it’s time to make your video!
