  40. Familial Hypercholestrolemia • A receptor disease • The most frequent mendelial disorder • 3-6% of survivors of MI • Mutation in the gene encoding LDL receptor • Hypercholestrolemia • Premature atherosclerosis: MI • Xanthoma
