  2. Flags of Costa Rica • The Costa Rican flag has five horizontal bands. Blue (top), white, red (double width), white, and blue, with the coat of arms of Costa Rica in a white disk on the left side of the red band.

  3. Maps of Costa Rica Costa Rica is a country in Central America, bordered by Nicaragua to the north, Panama to the southeast, the Pacific Ocean to the west, and the Caribbean Sea to the east.

This is because of it’s location between the North and South American continents. Costa Rica is home to more than 500,000 species, which represents nearly 4% of the total species estimated in the world.

It can be divided into several climatic zones, each of which are distinct and individual. It is tropical because it is located so close to the equator. Costa Rica has no real winter period, and the sun shines there throughout the year. With over 12 hours of sunshine a day, the sun rises at about 5 am and sets at about 6 pm consistently throughout the year.
