  • Definition: expresses an action or a state of being- you cannot have a complete sentence without a verb

  • Three types of verbs:

    • Action verb

    • Linking verb

    • Helping

  • Expresses a physical or mental action

    • Example: The boy walked into his classroom.

  • It links the subject to a word that identifies or describes it in the predicate.
