    3. Why run a parenting group? Parents have requested this type of support Kids come without instruction manuals People want to know about well researched, effective programmes that are practical Our school wants to support families We can all learn from each other’s experiences. A group can be especially supportive when you realise that you are not alone

    4. Why Triple P? It was developed in Australia and is now used worldwide It has been the most researched It has the most positive results It is practical and useful It is specific in its strategies It works!

    5. More about Triple P… It will be run as 4 group sessions Each participant/couple will receive a workbook to keep which summarises the ideas and has lots of working examples and activities It uses a DVD to illustrate examples

    10. Who is Triple P for? It is called a “population approach” in that it has been designed to assist all parents whether they are struggling or not The strategies are also particularly useful for parents who have very strong willed children It is meant to offer alternative and more effective methods of discipline than physical discipline, but still providing clear boundaries for children about what is acceptable behaviour and what is not This programme is targeted for parents of children between the ages of 2 and 12 years.

    11. When is it and how to register? Starts from Week 2 Term 2, Thursday evenings (7th May – 28th May) Goes from 6pm – 8pm for 4 weeks No cost to parents If you would like to attend, please complete the tear off slip from the Update Newsletter from Wed 25th March and return it to your child’s class teacher by Monday 6th April so participant books can be ordered in time.
