COA & FIT Aviation • COA • Dean plus 17 FT, 1 PT, and 3 visiting faculty (one full time faculty has been in temporary military duty for the last three years) • As of Fall 2018 semester 801 total registered students • 369 on campus undergraduate (229 flight/140 non flight) • 140 Online undergraduate • 114 Graduate online/on campus/ doctoral • 178 in Panama • FIT Aviation • 404 total flight students (257 Academic plus 147 EASA and FAA contractual) • 36 airplanes plus the flight test Piper Chieftain • 30 FT flight Instructors • 8 Flight simulators

Airline Pathways Programs • The CoA currently has eight Pathways Program partners • An airline pre-selection program • Most start in the sophomore year or later • Virtually guarantees you a job with the partner airline • Most are with traditional passenger regional airlines • Two with non-traditional type airlines • One more coming very soon

Aviation Student Organizations • National Intercollegiate Flying Association (NIFA) • International Society of Aviation Safety Investigators (ISASI) • College Aviation Business Executives (CABE) • Women in Aviation (WAI) • COA Student Network (COASN) • Alpha Eta Rho • Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES) Student Chapter

International and Domestic Cooperation • Panama dual degree program with Universidad Technologica de Panama (UTP) and COPA Airlines as logistics sponsor • Kunming 2+2 program • Henan 2+2 Program • Saudi Airlines academic degree and flight training contract • International Education Exchange Corporation, IECC, Korean academic flight students program • China Airlines, CAL, flight training contract • EASA UK time build contract • Turkish Airlines (finalized) • FITA also have more than 50 self sponsored EASA and FAA flight students and students from other colleges on campus training with us to fulfill technical electives. • EFSC 2+2 program for the maintenance program graduates • Polk State College online graduate program initiative

Sponsored Research • Currently, COA has funded research totaling $ 1,894,236 • Also, COA faculty has been running a very successful unfunded research with Southwest Airlines for the last year and a half. • Southwest Airline unfunded research brings logistical support, student internships, and online graduate student enrollments to COA.
