Join us at the workshop in Ada to discuss the challenges faced by UEW and to consolidate previous interventions. We will also explore the need for new interventions and provide guidelines for preparing concept papers.

  5. Guidelines for preparing concept papers • It should be brief but understandable • Clear and logical • Maximum of four pages • Consist of an overview and specific interventions Workshop at Ada on concept paper

Guidelines for preparing overview • Must have an introduction • State UEW’s mission statement, strategic vision statement & priorities • The project - a short description leading to re-statement of the related documented priorities- statement of the problem and its significance Workshop at Ada on concept paper

Guidelines for preparing overview of concept papers (cont’d) • Expected outcomes -short term measurable • Key staff for the overall project • Total amount requested (US$) • Beginning and ending dates • Should be first day of a month & end last day of a month • Should last for three years • All proposals should take place within the proposed period. Format for each intervention • Should be one page containing: • Brief description of the intervention • The relationship of the intervention to the university’s documented priorities • Discussion on how the intervention will support the university’s strategic objectives • List of anticipated tangible products • Key staff • Amount requested in US$ from the Corporation • State UEW’s contribution Workshop at Ada on concept paper

Other issues to consider… • Relation of your problem to Corporations current programme interest • If the project is already on the way, what have you accomplished? • If requesting funds for a component of a larger project, specify which activities the funds will cover and how they relate to the larger project • State sources you have requested other funds from Workshop at Ada on concept paper

Interventions: Overview • Improvement of teaching, learning and research • Using ICT to provide continuing learning of mentors and our graduates teachers in the schools (with Upenn) • Improving DE through online or e-learning • Improving the study and analysis of indigenous languages Workshop at Ada on concept paper
