  1. If you have a tooth that is broken or missing, then you might want to consider dental implants. One of the things that you can do to determine if implants are a good fit for you is to visit a dentist who specializes in the process. You’ll have an x-ray done to look at the extent of the damage with the tooth or teeth if there is more than one that you have concerns about. The x- ray can determine if there are other teeth that need to be pulled and replaced that you don’t know about. When you get implants, you will have a natural smile. The implants will look and feel like natural teeth, allowing you to brush them like normal and eat many of the foods that you enjoy. If you want to have teeth that are as natural as possible, then implants are an option compared to dentures that sometimes get broken and that need to be taken out of the mouth to clean. Implants are much more stable than some of the other options when it comes to missing or broken teeth. There is a titanium rod placed in the jaw bone. The new tooth is adhered to the rod once the rod bonds with the bone. The entire process could take a few months, but you will have a tooth that won’t move around and that isn’t affected by the teeth nearby. An implant can help to keep the other teeth in the mouth from shifting if you are getting an implant for a missing tooth. With the proper care, your implant can last about 10 years or longer. You might need to get the implant adjusted after it’s been in the mouth for severalyears, but you’ll find that there is little work involved in caring for the tooth aside from the care that you would provide for your other teeth. When you have implants, you won’t need to worry about staying at home or going out with family and friends simply because you have missing teeth. An implant can help to prevent an infection from forming. If there are cracks or chips in your tooth, then it allows bacteria to settle. This can lead to an abscess. If the tooth is missing because it comes out or it’s pulled, you could still develop an infection from the gum area that is now exposed. However, if you have an implant in the mouth, it can help to prevent bacteria from getting into the jaw as there is something to cover the space. Your mouth won’t have a sunken appearance, and you can maintain the natural shape of the jaw line. One of the benefits of an implant is that they usually aren’t receptive to

  2. cavities which means that you won’t have to worry about getting a filling or seeing a small hole form in the tooth that causes pain in the nerve as the material doesn’t allow for a cavity to form.
