  1. Demonstration 1. Run “slide show”. 2. Click one of the buttons below. 3. Track the black dot moving around with your eyes. 4. Click the button appearing after 3 second observation to return to this slide. If the black dot does not move smoothly, please slide your pointing finger on the screen and track it. Disks in the average luminance produce the best illusion. To enhance the effect, use a large display and get closer to the screen. Please note that the average luminance differs, depending on the gamma curve of your display. If you get the effect, try observing the slide with back-and-forth head movement. The disk pattern seems to shrink (expand) when your head approaches (recedes from) the screen. Disk luminance Dark Average Bright
