Alfalfa cutting strategies… • If stand is flowering & significant tonnage – HARVEST… • If flowering & low tonnage – LEAVE & let new growth come through… • Mowing will NOT increase growth… • Treat if PLH is at threshold levels… • Fertilize to OPTIMAL levels… • Harvest when new growth is ready…
