Sebastian V. 6th. The Outsiders S.E HINTON 1967 Realistic Non-Fiction. The story takes place in West Side New York. I think the book would be different if it weren't in New York because New York is usually the place where lots of violence and gang activity goes on. Setting. Characters.

Summary of plot

  • The summary of this book is that there is a group of young boys wich the parents of 2 of the boys died in an auto-wreck and the judge would only let them live toghether if they behave and whenever one of the boys kills a person of the opposite gand every body had to fight for them selves.

Summary of Plot

Theme

  • Things are violent all around.

  • Its rough all over. Page.

  • You really killed him, huh, Johnny? Page.57

Theme

Point of view

  • I think the point of view for this story is in Pony Boy's point of view and it helps the reader understand the story because pony boy saw most of what happened in the story.I think the story would be different if it was from someone else's point of view because that person probably didn’t see most of what happened in the story.

Point of View

Symbolism

  • Mostly all of the socs drive blue mustangs and the story would be much different if they all drove different cars because the greasers wouldn’t know if the car driving up to them would be a regular person or a gang of socs.

Recommendation

  • I think young people should read this book because it’s a really good book and it has most of the things that a young person would probably be able to understand.
