Integrated services for Ethnic Minorities Objectives • To provide a wealth of information covering different areas • To empower the ethnic minorities to solve their common problems • To promote social inclusion • To build up and strengthen the supportive network • To facilitate social adjustment and social integration among locals and EM residents

  5. Scope of Services (SMPC) • Orientation & Community Education • To help EM to learn more about Hong Kong’s language, law, and Chinese culture • To strengthen social adjustment among EM Community induction services • Language programme • Women’s programme • Settlement services

  6. Scope of Services (SMPC) • Employment Assistant Service - YPTP (Youth Pre-Employment Training Program) • YWETS (Youth Working Employment Training) • One stop Employment Assistance Service • Job related skills training

  15. Why serving ethnic minorities ? 5.6% of Hong Kong’s population. They are vulnerable Language barrier Cultural/ background difference Social stigma

  16. What we do ? • Medical consultation • Cervical cancer screening service for women • Referral • Health Education and health workshop.

  17. Medical consultation • A little girl from India suffering from Upper respiratory tract infection for one month.

  18. Medical consultation Patient suffering from chronic back pain.

  19. Medical consultation • A girl from Nepal suffering from fungal infection
