    2. Required Cardholder Training Modules Please make sure you take the mandatory training modules Why CSA? What’s Changing? Cardholder Training 101 Cardholder Training 201 Why CSA, What’s Changing, CSA101 & 201 are basic training modules and are required before completing specialized modules like this Temporary Spend Limits, Total Trip Reimbursement, etc… This training, Temporary Spend Limits, is in-depth training on the traveler’s capability to request Temporary Spend Limit Increases…or TSLs. The Air Force recognizes that there are times when a traveler has to depart on short notice without approved travel orders or the mission changes during the TDY. As a result, the traveler needs flexibility to meet these changing mission requirements. 3. Temporary Spend Limit Increase (TSL) What is a TSL? Why would you need a TSL? How can you get a TSL? Call Citi or contact your APC Follow up with a travel order or amendment when required AFI 65-103– 1.2.14: “Do not issue verbal orders unless absolutely…..must be confirmed in writing as soon as possible” AFI 11-401—Verbal Flight Authorizations: Written confirmation of any verbal flight order must be issued within three duty-days This training module provides the traveler with information they can use to ensure their travel is stress-free and the mission is accomplished. The CSA puts the traveler in control of their travel. Cardholders can now contact Citi directly without having to go through an APC to request a temporary spend limit increase. To allow travelers flexibility to meet all mission requirements and sometimes last minute travel is inevitable, you can call Citi toll free directly. In these situations a temporary spend limit increase allows the traveler to meet changing mission requirements until the travel order is approved. TSLs are good for five business days (seven calendar days). This five day TSL policy aligns with requirements in AFI 65-103 and AFI 11-401. Upon calling Citi’s CSA Customer Service Center, the customer service representative will ask a few simple mission related questions. Once you provide the answers to these basic questions, the TSL is approved and available immediately. Citi will send an email notification to you and your APC confirming the TSL. When required make sure you contact your organization to request a travel order or amendment. Once the TSL expires, any travel order or amendment processed during the five business days will load to your CSA and provide the necessary funding. If you do not receive an email notification advising of the spend limit increase, contact Citi Customer Service to see if your order was received and confirm your email is accurate. In the event your organization did not process the order or amendment, you may need to request a second TSL. If so, contact your organization to inquire about the status of your orders. 4. How a TSL Works on the CSA Request the right amount! How much do you already have available? How much more will you need for the next 5 business days? Any incoming orders will not load until the TSL expires When requesting a TSL you will need to make sure you request enough additional funds to cover your travel needs for the full five business days. This is very important because any travel orders or amendments that are cut and sent to Citi during the five business days will not load to your CSA until the TSL expires. 5. How to Request the TSL Call the number on the back of your card 877-784-1407 or overseas collect 817-802-1468 The Air Force has asked the Citi reps to ask the following questions: What unit do you work for and who ordered you to travel? What is your travel order if available? What are the travel dates? What is the amount being requested? To request a TSL call the number on the back of your CSA, 877-784 1407 or overseas collect 817-802-1468. The Citi reps will ask you What your travel dates are. If the travel dates fall out of the five business day window you don’t need a TSL. The start date must be within five business days. If it is outside of the five business days the travel order will have time to make it’s way to Citi via the automated process. The Citi rep will also ask you how much money you anticipate needing over the next 5 business days. They will let you know how much your available spend currently is and add on to the additional amount you need. Remember you will need to have on your account the amount that will cover your travel needs for the next 5 business days because any automated loads that come in during the TSL timeframe will not load to your account until the TSL expires.
