Climate Change LiteracyNWS and Public • Climate Outreach Activities in FY2008 • +500 events in Eastern Region (15 states) • Many venues of over 100 people. • NWS speakers use IPCC information, COMET climate variability training materials, and material from CPC on Climate Change. • Public doesn’t always understand where “Weather ends and Climate begins”.

  9. NWS ER Thoughts Need to modernize the dissemination infrastructure of NOAA for Climate Services. To meet current/future requirements, there MUST be dedicated Climate Services resources on existing NOAA web farms. Dedicated resources are needed for: • Internal product and service development • Implementation for public use • Integration with Federal Partners services
