  2. How to Open PhotoStory, import and edit photos. Goal 3:Fourth grade student will publish a digital storybook using PhotoStory and their saved photos to demonstrate an understanding of how to create, organize, and enhance a photo story. 8/2/2008

  4. After viewing PhotoStory examples, Open PhotoStory 3 program by clicking Start then Programs, and Photo Story 3. 8/2/2008

  5. On the Welcome page, click Begin a new story, and then click Next 8/2/2008

  6. To Import and arrange your photos, Click Import Pictures 8/2/2008

  7. Review 8/2/2008 • Choose the correct answer for the following question. To Import pictures in PhotoStory, you must click on what? • Next • Pictures • Import Pictures…

  8. Correct You must click on import pictures to import pictures into PhotoStory. Click to the next step 8/2/2008

  9. In the File Browser dialog box, Look in: Desktop\PhotoStory Pictures. To add more than one picture at a time, press and hold the CTRL key and click on the pictures you want to add, and then click OK. 8/2/2008

  10. To change the sequence of your photos, select photo then drag a photo in the filmstrip to the correct sequence or use the or arrows. Other features available in Import and arrange your pictures are : Click a picture in the filmstrip and click Edit to change the appearance of the picture by rotating it, adjusting the color, fixing red eye or adding effects. 8/2/2008

  11. Look at the pictures below of the story of “Jack and Jill”. Choose the photo that is the beginning of the story. Correct! Try Again! Try Again! Try Again! 8/2/2008

  12. To add text to pictures Click the first picture and then type text 8/2/2008

  13. To edit text In the Font dialog box, select a Font, font style, size, and color then click OK. 8/2/2008

  14. To align text Choose Alignment Left, Center, or Right Choose Alignment Top, Middle, or Bottom button to move the title on the page. Repeat above steps to add text to another photos, then experiment with different text styles, sizes, and alignments, using different formatting buttons. 8/2/2008 Click Next when finish editing text

  15. Let’s practice typing using your keyboard. Click link below to open up a document to practice typing. Type Story 8/2/2008

  16. To add transitions Click on the Customize Motion button below the photo to add transitions 8/2/2008

  17. To add transitions (cont.) Click on the tab labeled Transitions and choose a transition that seems appropriate for the page. Click Save. Click arrow to add transition to next photo. Continue above steps until all photos have transitions. 8/2/2008

  19. How to Save and Burn a PhotoStory Goal 4: The fourth grade student will use PhotoStory 3, a computer, and a CD to save and share their photo story. 8/2/2008

  20. You will start by saving your completed PhotoStory. You will select “Save your story for playback on your computer” and then click “Next” 8/2/2008

  21. Then your PhotoStory will compile and you will be sent to this screen. Simply click “Exit” to complete the process. 8/2/2008

  24. You will locate “My Computer” from the Start menu and open it. Find your CD-Rom drive and open it. Then you will physically open the computer CD-Rom drive, insert a blank CD-R disc and close the drive tray. 8/2/2008

  25. After completing the previous instructions, you will find your saved PhotoStory file. It will be located (by default) in your “My Videos” folder, which is located inside of the “My Documents” folder. 8/2/2008

  28. After opening both locations, select your PhotoStory and drag it into the CD-Rom folder. 8/2/2008

  29. To burn your PhotoStory to a CD, simply click “File” and “Write these files to CD”. This process will take a few minutes, once it’s completed your PhotoStory will be ready to share.
