  1. Religiously Right and Scripturally Wrong?

  2. Religion • Belief in and reverence for God or some supernatural power that is recognized as the creator or ruler of the universe, and organized system of doctrine with an approved pattern of behavior and a proper form of worship.

  3. Scriptures are our guide from earth to heaven (Psalm 119:105; John 12:48). • To be religiously right we must be scripturally right. • No one can be religiously right and scripturally wrong at the same time. • If God’s will has undergone no change since the New Covenant was completed, what God’s will was then is still God’s will today.

  4. continued • Jude 3 • II Peter 1:3 • All the churches in the Christian religion should be doing the same thing. • I Corinthians 16: 1,2 • Colossians 4: 15, 16 • I Corinthians 4:17 • II Timothy 2:1-3 - “ What you have heard commit to faithful men.”

  5. One Religion, One System Of Faith • Galatians 1:13,14 - Jews religion. God wanted one religion for everyone. • Acts 26:5 - Pharisee’s • Acts 15:1,2,7-9, 13-20, 22-31 • The Christians religion was declared full grown, and independent religion, not an extension of the Jewish system of faith.

  6. Organized System of Doctrine • Acts 2:42 - Apostles doctrine • I Timothy 1:3 - Teach no other doctrine • I Timothy 1:10 - Some things are contrary to sound doctrine. • Titus 2:1 - Must teach things that become sound doctrine.

  7. continued • II Timothy 4:2,3 - Endure sound doctrine. • I Timothy 4:13 - Give attendance to doctrine. • Titus 1:9 - Use sound doctrine to convince the gainsayers. • Matthew 15:9 - Doctrines of men are vain. • Ephesians 4:14 - Don’t be carried away with every “wind” of doctrine.

  8. Approved Pattern Of Behavior • II Timothy 3:15 • I Corinthians 14:40 • Matthew 18: 15-17 • Galatians 6: 1

  9. Proper Form Of Worship • John 4:19-24 • Nehemiah 8:3,8,13-18 • II Chronicles 34: 15, 21, 31-33 - “Took it out of the way.” • Exodus 25:40 - Moses • I Chronicles 28:9-12 - David and Solomon

  10. Scripture Governs The Christian Religion • I Peter 1: 20-21- Not man’s will but God’s will. • II Timothy 3:16 - “ All scripture” • John 5:39 - Scripture testify of Jesus • II Timothy 3:15 - Makes us wise unto salvation. • Luke 24:47 - When opened and understood we see the plan of God. • Ephesians 3:4. • Acts 17:11- Search daily to find God’s will for our lives.
