  1. Warm Up 4/28 Homework 4/28 **This MUST be done on notebook paper! We will use the rest of the paper for something else later  1. Has anyone ever taken something important from you that you felt was rightfully yours? How did you feel? What did you do? If not, what do you think you would feel and do in that situation? Unit 8 Vocab Assessment – WEDNESDAY 4/30!

  2. DAILY Expectations • Be prepared (pencil, paper, homework done) • Stay on task • Keep hands and feet to yourself • Raise your hand to speak or get out of your seat • Respect yourself, others, and school property

Reflection Tickets • If you are not following expectations, you will receive a reflection ticket • Complete the ticket and set it on the corner of your desk for me to pick up • If you receive 3 or more tickets in one week, you will receive a lunch detention as your consequence • If our whole class has no reflection tickets for the week, we will go outside 6th block 

  5. The CRUSADES • What were they? • The Crusades were a series of military campaigns by Christian nations in Europe during the Middle Ages. The end of the Crusades… • The 3rd and 4th crusades had some military victories but failed to capture Jerusalem. • After this, many poor boys and girls in Europe became convinced that God would help them conquer Jerusalem. • Thousands of them began to travel to the Holy Land in 1212. This event is called the Children’s Crusade. Many of these children starved or froze to death on their journey. Others were drowned at sea or sold into slavery. None of them reached the Holy Land.

The Crusades’ lasting impact on history… • Although the Crusaders succeeded in controlling part of the Holy Land for periods of time, they failed in their goal of permanently controlling the region. • Also, their efforts caused bitter feelings between Muslims and Christians for centuries. However, the Crusades did spur economic growth. • Trade increased between cities along the Mediterranean Sea, and Italian cities made huge profits by transporting crusaders and their supplies. TRADE
