By the eighth century, the Christian Church became the day on November 1 All Saints Day to honor all the saints who did not have a special day of celebration. Over the years these festivals combined, and most called 'All Hallowmas "(the mass of all the saints, holy persons) at All Saints' Day. The night before became known as "All Hallows Eve" (Eve of All Saints Day). Over time, his name became Halloween.

Inside, puts some light, usually a candle, and is used as Halloween decorations. That tradition began in Ireland and Britain, where vegetable lanterns were used to illuminate, but little by little, because the pumpkin was the most abundant plant, began to use more, and finally this was associated with the festival of Halloween. The name comes from a legend that says that one man "Jack the mean", who uses a cross to trap the Devil.
