Why do a Business Plan? • To determine the most prominent local issues • To get input from all members in all categories • Increases participation in initiatives • Increases ownership of initiatives • To set tasks and goals for the committee • To enable results to be measured • To give ongoing motivation to members / committee members

  3. Business Planning Process • Ask for input from members in an open forum • Group Similar Items • Members rank importance of issues raised • Finalise list • Committee develops initiatives with stakeholders • Initiatives presented to members and put into action • Review your business plan

Drink Spike Detector and Coasters • Tests for GHB (Fantasy) or Ketamine (Special K) • Posters, POS Material and Brochures available • Drink Safe Technologies 1300 78 7233 • Drink Spike Detector costs $4.52 + GST for a pack of six tests (3 cards, 2 tests per card) • Coasters Cost $0.75 + GST per coaster

Late Night Bus Service • Run by Local Council and supported by LCLA • Funded by Local Council, CDIS, Ministry of Transport, Commercial Ventures, Ticket Revenue, LCLA • Faster disbursement of patrons = less friction on the street • More efficiency from Taxi services • Contributed to a 28% Decrease in crime during hours of operation

  8. Large Events • Co-ordinated approach from Licensees, Council, Police, Transport Providers and Media • Lismore Cup / Masters Games, City v Country NRL Game, NRL Trial Matches, Crusty Demons of Dirt

Co-ordinated Approach • Publish patron responsibility and curfew • Agree to stagger CLOSING TIMES • Increase alcohol free periods before closing • Provide closing times information to Police, Council Security, Late Night Bus, Taxis • Minimal numbers of patrons on the street • Improved efficiency from transport services • Police in the right place at the right time
