  2. TO HASTEN HIS COMING • “As you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming.” 2 Pet 3:12 • It is the privilege of every Christian not only to look for but to hasten the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. {COL 69.2}

  3. TO END THE WORLD “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come”. Matthew 24:14

  4. EVANGELISM EXPLOSION “Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them… And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.” Acts 2:41,47 “However, many of those who heard the word believed; and the number of the men to be about five thousand.” Acts 4:4

  5. EVANGELISM EXPLOSION “Then the word of God spread and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly in Jerusalem, and a great many of the priests were obedient to faith.” Acts 6:7 “…And a great many people were added to the Lord.” Acts 11:24

IN A SINGLE GENERATION “…the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven…” Col 1:23 “By the cooperation of the divine Spirit, the apostles did a work that shook the world. To every nation was the gospel carried in a single generation.” Ev 706 It is well documented that at the end of the first century, the number of Christians was about one million

  7. CONTRAST A study was conducted and it was found out that at the rate we are now preaching we should have entered every country of the world in the next 104 years. And that only counts having one organized church in an entire country.

  8. MULTITUDES “Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common. And with great power the apostles gave witness to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus. And great grace was upon them all.” Acts 4:32,33

  9. AWAKE, AWAKE… “Awake, awake, put on strength, O arm of the LORD! Awake as in the ancient days, in the generations of old… Are you not the One who dried up the sea, the waters of the great deep; that made the depths of the sea a road for the redeemed to cross over? Isaiah 51: 9,10

  10. WHERE IS…? “Where is that spirit, Lord, which dwelt in Abram’s breast and sealed him Thine? Which made Paul’s heart with sorrow melt , and glow with energy divine?”

  11. IS NOT…? “ Is not Thy grace as mighty now as when Elijah felt its power? When glory beamed from Moses’ brow, Or Job endured the trying hour?”

  12. WHY SHOULD WE…? “The gospel still possesses the same power, and why should we not today witness the same results?” (DA 823)

  13. YOU WILL RECEIVE POWER But you will receive power…”Acts 1:8 “I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12

  14. TO US AS WELL “For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.” Acts 3:39

  15. AS STRONG AS… “The promise is as far-reaching as the commission… The promise is just as strong and trustworthy now as in the days of the apostles.” (DA 832)

  16. TO BE REPEATED “These scenes are to be repeated, and with greater power. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost was the former rain, but the latter rain will be more abundant.” (COL 121)

  17. YOU MAY HAVE POWER If you want power you may have it, as it is awaiting your draft upon it. Only believe in God, take Him at His word, act by faith, and blessings will come.” (Counsels on Health 367)

  18. SWIFTLY AND QUICK “Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you,…” 2Thes 3:1 For He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the Lord will make a short work upon the earth. Rom 9:28

  19. SWIFTLY AND QUICKLY • The swiftness of lightning represents the speed with which this work will finally go forward to completion. 5 T 754 • Quickly the last great harvest would be ripened, and Christ would come to gather the precious grain. {COL 69.2}

  20. IN THIS GENERATION • Success in any line demands a definite aim. He who would achieve true success in life must keep steadily in view the aim worthy of his endeavor. Such an aim is set before the youth of today. The heaven-appointed purpose of giving the gospel to the world in this generation is the noblest that can appeal to any human being. It opens a field of effort to everyone whose heart Christ has touched. Ed 262.

  21. THE SAME POWER • “ And in the days of the apostles He wrought mightily for His church through the agency of the Holy Spirit. The same power that sustained the patriarchs, that gave Caleb and Joshua faith and courage, and that made the work of the apostolic church effective, has upheld God's faithful children in every succeeding age.” ChS 256

  22. GREAT MANIFESTATION • The great work of the gospel is not to close with less manifestation of the power of God than marked its opening. The prophecies which were fulfilled in the outpouring of the former rain at the opening of the gospel are again to be fulfilled in the latter rain at its close. GC 612

  23. WITH POWER • Miracles will be wrought, the sick will be healed, and signs and wonders will follow the believers. Satan also works, with lying wonders, even bringing down fire from heaven in the sight of men. Revelation 13:13. Thus the inhabitants of the earth will be brought to take their stand. {GC 612.1}

  24. REVERSE CONVERSION • “The people are subordinating themselves to the world, to its practices, its customs, its selfishness. The church has gone over to the world in transgression of the law, when the world should have come over to the church in obedience to the law. Daily the church is being converted to the world.--Christ's Object Lessons, pp. 315, 316. {ChS 45.1}

  25. THE KEY • “These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication…” Acts 1:14 • “When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, there were all with one accord in one place…And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit… Acts 2:1,4 • “…But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word.” Acts 6:4

  26. HEAVENLY FAMILY • “Now an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip saying,…Then the Spirit said to Philip, “Go near and overtake this chariot.” So Philip ran to him, and heard him reading the prophet Isaiah, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading? Acts 8: 26, 29,30

  27. HEAVENLY FAMILY • “Then Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing…And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter who will tell words by which you and all your household will be saved.” Acts 11: 12-14

  28. THE KEY: REVIVAL AND REFORMATION • “A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work.” ChS 41 • “The time has come for a thorough reformation to take place. When this reformation begins, the spirit of prayer will actuate every believer, and will banish from the church the spirit of discord and strife. 8T 251

  29. AGONIZE FOR THE INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT “…Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” James 4:2b “ Since is the means by which we are to receive power, why do we not hunger and thirst for the gift of the Spirit? Why do we not talk of it, pray for it, and preach concerning it? AA 50 “The Spirit awaits our demand and reception.” COL 121

  30. SUPERNATURAL HELP They are to contend with supernatural forces, but they are assured of supernatural help. All the intelligences of heaven are in this army. And more than angels are in the ranks. The Holy Spirit, the representative of the Captain of the Lord's host, comes down to direct the battle. DA 352

  31. DIVINE MANDATE “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” Matthew 28: 19 “For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for necessity is laid upon me: yes, woe is me if I do not preach the gospel!” 1 Cor 9: 16

  32. DIVINE MANDATE “God requires every one to be a worker in His vineyard”. ChS 9 “God expects personal service from every one to whom He intrusted a knowledge of the truth for this time. Not all can go as missionaries to foreign lands, but all can be home missionaries in their families and neighborhoods.” ChS 9

  33. BORN TO BE MISSIONARIES “Every true disciple is born into the kingdom of God as a missionary. He who drinks of the living water becomes a fountain of life. The receiver becomes a giver.” ChS 9 “He who is truly converted will work to save others who are in darkness.” Ev 355

  34. BORN TO BE MISSIONARIES Baptismal Vows—Pledge to win souls. “God’s people are to feel a noble, generous sympathy for every line of work carried on in the great harvest field. By their baptismal vows they are pledged to make earnest, self-denying efforts to promote, in the hardest parts of the field, the work of soulsaving. God has placed on every believer the responsibility of striving to rescue the helpless and the oppressed.” Ev 354,355

  35. TOTAL PARTICIPATION “Our work is plainly laid down in the Word of God. Christian is to be united to Christian, church to church, the human instrumentality co-operating with the divine, every agency to be subordinated to the Holy Spirit, and all be combined in giving to the world the good tidings of the grace of God.” ChS 14

  36. TOTAL PARTICIPATION If Christians were to act in concert, moving forward as one, under the direction of one Power, for the accomplishment of one purpose, they would move the world.” ChS 75

  37. TOTAL PARTICIPATION “Our work is plainly laid down in the Word of God.   38. PROMISE FULLFILLED The ministry of brother Seed Gabriel Chalwe in Zambia is one of the fulfillment of God’s promise

  39. MULTITUDES WILL JOIN … They will declare the truth with the might of the Spirit's power. Multitudes will receive the faith and join the armies of the Lord. Ev, p. 700.

  40. HE GIVES POWER • “The Lord will give strength to His people…” Psalm 29:11 • “…The God of Israel is He who gives strength and power to His people.” Psalm 68:35 • “He gives power to the weak and to those who have no might He increases strength.” Isaiah 40:29

  41. THE SKY IS NOT THE LIMIT There is no limit to the usefulness of one who, by putting self aside, makes room for the working of the Holy Spirit upon his heart, and lives a life wholly consecrated to God. DA 250

  42. ONE HUNDRED TIMES “If we would humble ourselves before God, and be kind and courteous and tenderhearted and pitiful, there would be one hundred conversions to the truth where now there is only one.” 9T 189
