  2. What is Water? • Binary compound that is necessary for the life • Occurs as a liquid at room temperature • Most abundant liquid on earth • Solid- 0 degrees centigrade or lower • Gas- 100 degrees centigrade or higher • Contains 2 atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen

  3. Functions of Water • Regulates body temperature • Natural lubricant for joints • Moves nutrients around body • Helps remove waste • Helps with digestion • Promotes healthy skin

  4. Where is water digested? • The stomach of an adult horse holds approximately two gallons • Allows it to hold large amounts of food and water • Absorbed through the walls of the small intestine • Small colon reclaims excess moisture
