Arizona Supreme Court Strategic Agenda Goal • Goal 1F: “User-Friendly Courts” Initiatives: • Implement programs to ensure the availability of qualified language interpreters for non-English speaking litigants • Implement programs to assist speech or hearing impaired litigants • Provide customer service training for judges and judicial staff.

  6. Interpreter Registry Project Timeline: • 9/07: Workgroup provided guidance for registry development • 4/08: AOC contracted with vendor to create registry • 8/08: Development and testing completed • 9/08: Expected release to courts at end of month • 11/08: Anticipated public outreach begins

Interpreter Registry • Goals for application: • On-line repository of interpreters- statewide • Efficient and effective tool to locate interpreters • Increased pool of interpreters available to all courts • Application capabilities: • Public portal - enter/sign up • Court access portal- search/resource access • AOC staff to verify/approve and update
